What is the one thing most people don’t know about Comfort Heating that you wish they did?
That we are a second generation family owned company that has been serving Billings since 1983.
What kinds of things do you do to ensure marketing initiatives work well for your sales team?
This is tough, as I am pretty much the only sales person. We just do our best to keep our name and logo recognizable and in front of our customers and people in the local area.
What marketing strategy changes have you had to make as your company has grown?
We have had to focus more on social media than before. The online presence is important, but also we need to have a recognizable logo. So we use the sun, motto and colors on everything, from letterhead, brochures, signage, vehicles, etc.
What marketing mistakes do you see most often in other small business?
Spending too much money on places that offer little return.
How is your company using online and social media to advance your marketing goals?
We have a presence on multiple platforms that allow people to get information about us, read reviews, see specials and schedule appointments.
How do you differentiate your company from other competitors in the marketplace?
We strive to take care of our existing customers and also find some new ones. We are not constantly on TV, radio, newspaper etc looking for new people. We have to take care of those that patronize us regularly. We love referrals and love new customers, and once they have used us hopefully they will come back time and time again.
What’s your best marketing tip for other small business owners?
Ask for and use referrals. They will serve you well. Also, brand your company and stick to that brand. People like consistency.
